What's On My Nightstand February Edition

Here is my February edition of What's On My Nightstand!

Short recap of last month....
Reading
Royal Princes of Ruthenia by Jennifer Blake
To Read:
Secondhand Horses- by Lauraine Snelling and Kathleen Damp Wright- YA title

The Cat Whisperer- by Mieshelle Nagelschneider

Dog Quotes- by Amy Morford

Lulu and the Dog from the Sea- Hilary McKay

What I finished:

Royal Princes of Ruthenia- The perfect forget the laundry, the cat, the dog, go soak in a bubble bath up to your neck and oh was I supposed to cook dinner books. Really, I got lost in the romantic adventure and fun of these two stories.....

Lulu and the Dog from the Sea- Hilary McKay- Cute YA book for those who have little girls who love dogs.  Perfect for a second grader read along.

Bliss- Kathryn Littlewood- YA title- Family with a gift of magic for helping people....what goes wrong when mom and dad leave the bakery in the hands of the kids to help the next town's flu problem will make you laugh, and groan.

Unglued Devotional- Lysa Terkeurst- Amazing and perfect for a mom on the go!

What the Cluck?! An Alternative Guide to Raising Chickens- Andrew Ayers- This was a great intro into the homesteading aspect of raising your own backyard chickens. I have wanted to raise my own chickens and eggs since I was a little girl on my grandparents farm. Alas, in 1980, the neighbors in little Carrollton , would have lost it if I had. Now though, it is cool to raise your own.

Buzz Books 2013- Publishers Launch- 25 excerpts from the hottest books to come out this summer- Whew! This one took me a while to get through. There are some good ones and some duds in the list but you will have to check out my post soon for more of the details.

And last but certainly not least- Sorry I Barfed on Your Bed- It is letters from your cat about all the nutsy things they do. I laughed so hard I cried.

  1. What an eclectic list! Lots of people I know have chickens...it seems a great idea and I'd love the fresh eggs but maybe not the extra work.

  2. When I was first married in 1998, the old lady behind us had chickens and we thought she was crazy (she likely was, but not because of that). Now you're right, it's all the rage!
